ANOCA Games

Games for the African Youth

Jeux de l'ACNOAIt is today commonly acknowledged that talent identification across Africa falls short of expectation thus jeopardising, to a substantial measure, sport development policies on the continent.

Preoccupied by this state of affairs, ANOCA recently proposed to all stakeholders of African Sport (NOCs, sports confederations, ministries in charge of sport and National Education) to join hands in launching the ANOCA Games.

Targeted for the under-20, these games serve not only to identify young Olympic hopefuls but also to educate the young on the virtues and values of sports and the Olympic ethics.

Organized yearly in the respective development zones, the ANOCA Games cover about several sports codes.

A Catalyst for the Development of African Sport

ANOCA as coordinator of the Games, largely bears the cost of travel for the various contingents as well provides host countries with the budget for a event organisation per se.

Concurrently to the Games, training clinics are also put in place for technical officials, coaches and sports administrators.
